Members of the Japanese Canadian / Nikkei community have come out against Beedie’s proposal for 105 Keefer, releasing an open letter in solidarity with the Chinatown community. The letter, which has been signed by almost 100 Japanese Canadian / Nikkei community members and allies, calls on the City of Vancouver’s Development Permit Board to reject Beedie’s proposal for development on the site at 105 Keefer.
We appreciate our historic and present-day neighbours in the Japanese Canadian / Nikkei community standing in solidarity with Chinatown in opposing 105 Keefer.
