Kick out gentrification in Chinatown with a free kung fu and lion dancing workshop in the heart of Chinatown with the Chau Luen Athletic Club.
When: Saturday, September 2 from 2:00 to 5:00pm
Where: Chinatown Memorial Plaza next to 105 Keefer
Cost: Free!
You’ll learn the basics of kung fu, lion dancing, and drumming from one of Chinatown’s longstanding benevolent society athletic clubs. There will also be a kung fu and lion dancing demo, and a post-workshop snack social to re-energize and connect with the community!
All ages welcome. Beginner-friendly!
This is continual protest of Beedie’s gentrifier condo development at 105 Keefer.
Things to bring:
- Comfortable shoes and attire
- Water to stay hydrated
