The Jade Dynasty Chinese restaurant, on East Pender Street, was engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived on scene.
Crews worked quickly to prevent the fire from spreading to the upper floors of the building.
Fortunately, no one was inside at the time and no injuries have been reported.
It appears an electrical panel problem caused the fire.

I am told it was a contained electrical panel fire, with no major damage.
Global News may have had sensationalized the story a bit.

Looks like the fire was extinguished before it could spread at all.
